What is the KIBO Stand-alone Family Safe Room?

Kibo Family Safe Rooms are designed as short stay emergency ‘panic’ rooms to provide immediate and rapid protection from Disasters and armed threats. They are constructed using the standard Kibo focus military specification ballistic resistant units but finished with a timber cladding to both disguise the purpose of the building and to enable it to blend in with a domestic environment, be it a garden, yard or farm. It is designed not to be easily identified and therefore should not attract immediate attention from attackers. The buildings come fitted with roof mounted solar power, basic electrical supply, water, VHF/UHF antenna, lightening protection and gas masks. If required they can also be fitted with a WC, air conditioning and a full electrical distribution installation.

Why to use a KIBO Family Safe Room?

Having a safe room that looks like a garden house can provide several advantages. Here are a few reasons why it is better:
1. Disguise: A garden house design helps to conceal the fact that it is a safe room. This can be beneficial in situations where you want to keep the existence of the safe room a secret. By blending in with the surroundings, it reduces the chances of attracting attention or raising suspicion.
2. Camouflage: A garden house appearance allows the safe room to blend in with the natural environment. This camouflage can make it more difficult for potential intruders or threats to identify the safe room as a target. It provides an added layer of security by keeping the safe room inconspicuous.
3. Psychological Comfort: The aesthetics of a garden house can create a more calming and comfortable environment. In times of distress or emergency, being in a space that resembles a peaceful garden can help reduce anxiety and provide a sense of normalcy. This can be especially important for individuals who may need to spend extended periods of time in the safe room.
4. Functional Integration: A garden house design allows for the integration of functional elements such as windows, doors, and ventilation systems. These features can enhance the usability and livability of the safe room. It can also provide access to natural light and fresh air, making the space more pleasant to be in.
5. Increased Property Value: A safe room that is designed to look like a garden house can add value to your property. It can be seen as an attractive and unique feature that sets your property apart from others. This can be advantageous if you ever decide to sell your home.
Overall, having a safe room that resembles a garden house offers both practical and aesthetic benefits. It combines security with a visually pleasing and functional design, providing a hidden sanctuary within your property.

Questions & Answers:

Q: What the main difference with all other concrete/metal/underground shelters?
A: As we are targeting mainly the private market with this model, we designed it to avoid the “headache” of design/planning/construction works. The crane will drop it in the yard and it is ready.

Q: Why is this strange looking design? I have never seen such shelter.
A: There are two main reasons: Private people do not want to wake up every morning and see a “military-style” shelter in their yard (but they do want to know it is there). And in the case of a ground attack (Terror/criminal/war), it looks like another warehouse. The idea is to blend in the urban surroundings.

Q: Why should it be so comprehensive?
A: The private market has many threats and very little knowledge about the solutions. They should have one room that will protect them for all threats (Terror/other attacks, war/terror/other explosions, etc.).

Q: How do we know it is actually safe?
A: Kibo Cabins is an experience supplier to NATO and many other government organizations around the world. They have great track record and have the required certificates.

Q: Are there really windows in the shelter? Is it safe?
A: Yes, there are. From our experience it is very important (psychologically and for security) to have clear view of the surroundings. The windows are “hidden” below the decorative cover and are all rated and certified to be part of the protection.

Q: Is there only one size/design for this shelter?
A: No, we are offering customization. Not only size and design, but also protection level and the interior components. Our next design will be launched very soon and it will look like a country-style cottage.

Q: What makes it such a success in the market?
A:  This is a ready-made solution with a very attractive price, which makes it an easy buy for the customer and easy sale for the distributors.

Q: How fast and where can I get it?
A: We are receiving and preparing orders. Contact us for your local distributor in your own country.
